Into the West!

Okay... the previous post nearly makes you believe, just as we were convinced, that we were going to surely lease an apartment in Mansion Grove. We woke up bright and ready to lease the apartment and walked into the rental office with checks, forms and a smile. But we were not greeted by a smile from the other end! The apartment we were planning to lease was GONE!!!!

Now, the leasing consultant, Erin, was warm and gave us atleast 5 other options, which made us feel better. However, Subha definately wanted to see where each one was and her hunch turned out correct! Each of these apartments, albeit impressive in the interior, were all overshadowed by the construction work going on in the complex. Some of them were right in the middle of intense construction activity. This was troubling. The landscaping in these areas was really a mess, owing to the construction. Erin herself had a sigh when she looked at it and said, "It was never like this!". Looking at her face tells you that she was being honest. However, the truth was, we would have to wait for atleast half of our lease period before things turned better. This was not looking good.

So, we had to begin evaluating other reasonable options. Subha coaxed me into taking a walk with her to Olive West, the very apartment where we first met. The only reasons I was against this, were that it had no a/c, plus it was a bit too close for comfort from Hickorynut. But then I decided to see what it looked like in comparison to the 27 other properties that we have visited!

Since Daylight savings was not yet here, it was already quite dark at 7pm, but boy, I was impressed! the place was really serene, the apartments were separated from each other very well and the amenities were too good. So, I decided to visit the leasing office the following day and that experience was pleasant. We liked the price and floorplan for the 2 bedroom-1bath.

I was almost ready to sign the lease, but I wanted a 3rd umpire to rule on this. So, I appointed Rathish to this post and he evaluated this complex positively too. So I was convinced that we were making the right choice and signed the lease for our 2bed-1bath apartment!! It was an awesome area and a great complex, which was too good to resist! So Olive West, here we come... but guess what.... more than a month from now (Apr 22nd)!!!!!!!
